Hasn't the weather been beautiful! I am soaking up the sun, budding flowers, the smell of fresh air, and the Spring breeze. This was a real long winter for me, and I haven't bee more excited for the warmer weather!!
It has been a while since I posted on the bloggy blog and I blame that to working seven days a week and school. Well, I had Saturday off this week and a mini vacation in-between terms so I am hoping to get in a few posts.
A few weekends ago, I transformed my closet from Winter to Spring/ Summer. I went through a lot of clothing and accessories to try to do the never ending battle of transforming my wardrobe. I have grown, and I need my wardrobe to come with me.
I find my style is still classic, but less explorative. I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but I see similar silhouettes and less trendy pieces. I have noticed that I have been gravitating to my shows for my statements, and stacking my bracelets as always. The office I work in is a thousand degrees every day so I have been going without my old favorite piece - the scarf. Also, I am still nose ring less - still a tragic event we wont speak to much of.
Here's my Sunday best -

My Casual Sunday
Sunday was beautiful here in New England. After yet another snow storm, we were blessed with some warmth and sunshine. I could not bring myself to wear my coat, although it did travel with me in my car, I just layered up with long sleeves and a scarf. This time of the year is a favorite of mine. I love being able to run around doing errands with my windows cracked and not being overwhelmed by my down jacket.
Sunday I treated as a personal day. I worked Saturday so it was my only day off, and I treated myself to a few favorites. Although it was daylight savings time, I woke up for church with Matt. Now that we both work full time, we don't get to have our infamous lunch dates, so we grabbed some lunch and caught up... yes, I had to 'catch' up with Matt... I am way to busy.
It was a day filled with sunshine and smiles.

Pretty In Pink RED.
I always had trouble wearing the color red. I felt it was only for
the Christmas season, and the Forth of July. I bought this red dress for
the holiday season, and it became my 'go-to.' I also have the dress in
black, grey, and cobalt blue.... yes.... I bought the same dress in four
different colors. I have been trying to reinvent my wardrobe as usual, but I haven't had time to shop for new accessories, so this has been more of a challenge for me then usual.
The other day I brought out my red dress and paired it with a cream cardi. It has been warmer outside when the sun is shining so I layered with a faux fur vest. I also rediscovered this awesome necklace Matt bought me a while ago. I have always loved pearls, and the side statement worked perfectly with the neckline of the cardi.

Merry Christmas Charlie Brown
I saw this skirt and instantly had to have it!! I love the print (sorry no close up), and how it reminds me of Charlie Brown's shirt! (It is zig zagged.) I loved that it has the trendy print and cut but I can still wear it with alot of things.
I typically don't wear skirts this length, but I thought that if I kept it simple it would balance the length. I paired it with a black knit and tights. I added a little color to the outfit in my scarf to make it more Jess like!!

Well...The Mayan's Were Wrong
As the year is coming to an end, I have been reflecting, as many people do. This year I have done so many things, made new memories, new friends, traveled, and started to explore who I really am.
Here are a few of my favorites from the year!

Sometimes You Find The Answer When You Run In For Deodorant.
This fall has been so nice, the weather hasn't been super cold and raw, which is making me enjoy the season so much more! I am still adjusting to my new job, so I have been concentrating on adjusting my life to my new schedule.
A challenge that came with a new job was a new wardrobe. I have been working with new pieces that are foreign to my closet... the dreaded trouser! I was struggling finding the right fit for my figure, I searched high and low through Gap, Banana, LOFT, Old Navy, and Macy's and found nothing. Finally I found a pant that fits my body type perfect, so I haven't hated wearing pants. What is nice about having a basic bottom is that you can add so much more to the top! I have been playing with belts, scarfs, shoes, earrings, and statement necklaces to make sure 'Jess' isn't loss in the outfit.
So were did I find the pant of my dreams you ask... Wal-Mart. Yep- Wal-Mart. I was surprised to see the option they have in fits, styles, lengths, and sizes for trousers. My fit is the original made by George. I did have to get a size up because they're a but lower rise then I would normally take in a structured trouser, but it was worth it! What is also great about the pant is that they're machine washable, wrinkle free, and have kept their shine after washing.
